October 2011 News

October 21, Portland, OR - For 35 years, the American Hiking Society (AHS), a non-profit organization, has been at the forefront of protecting the nation's trails and the hiking experience. LED LENSER US (a Leatherman Tool Group company) is proud to be supplying AHS with their powerful LED lights as incentives for their necessary fundraising activities.

In difficult economic times, many non-profits find themselves fighting even harder for donation funds from even their most ardent supporters. Partnering with well-known and respected manufacturers to provide meaningful incentives helps fuel donation efforts to meet their goals. In the case of AHS, donation funding touches every part of their operation to keep trails open and accessible to the hiking public.

Listed as one of the "10 Essentials for Hiking" on AHS literature and the web site, the connection between lights and hiking was a natural fit. It was also one that made sense from both sides. The partnership gives LED LENSER the opportunity to be involved in a meaningful way with efforts to promote and protect America's hiking trails, their surrounding natural areas, and the hiking experience.

"When we began distributing LED LENSER lights and headlamps in the U.S. we wanted to partner with well-respected outdoor initiative partners to help us spread the word," said Product Manager Kevin Gleason. "With our donation to American Hiking Society, we've committed to their mission to protect the quality hiking experiences enjoyed by millions every year, by helping them in their fund raising efforts."
