I've been using LEDlenser headlamps for years at our rural ranch property. It's very dark at night and a bright and reliable headlamp is a necessity. This 3rd generation headlamp is impressive- the build quality with an aluminum body is incredible and the illumination is super bright and easily adjusted. Battery life is good so far and it recharges quickly. The headband features a new silicone occipital pad for the back of your head that works well but makes it a little less packable. I'm still getting used to the beam focus feature which is different that the older models from this brand. Overall this is an excellent light at a great price that should last many years. As always I appreciate the very generous discount offered to military folks.
Favorite headlamp
This is the favorite headlamp I own! This size and form factor is perfect for everything I do. It is perfect for home projects to outdoor use. I keep it in my pack or in my car all the time! The new features on the HF6R Core are awesome! I love using a wheel to focus the light. It makes it really easy to use while wearing gloves to change the settings. The red stting is great for late nights when your eyes are adjusted to pitch black. The new strap is awesome too! It keeps the headlamp in place when moving. It is so nice not to have to keep adjusting it. All around this is the perfect headlamp in my opinion. It has everything I need and nothing extra.
