April 2012 News

Portland, Oregon, April 9, 2012 - Leatherman® multi-tools and LED LENSER® lights will be lending support to the 2012 National Outdoor Leadership School's (NOLS®) facility summit in Lander, WY with a donation of headlamps and multi-tools to all attending instructors.

Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. parent company to Leatherman multi-tools and LED LENSER lights, has been equipping professionals in the backcountry for the expected and unexpected for 29 years. The opportunity to donate equipment to the NOLS instructors - better preparing them for their extended backcountry trips - was the perfect match for the company's mission. "These instructors are the best at what they do and they deserve the best equipment," said LED LENSER Product Manager Kevin Gleason. "It's important that they can focus on the wilderness skills and environmental-stewardship education they're there for and not have to worry about their gear."

Leatherman will be donating 200 Blast® multi-tools. Perfect for its full set of 16 tools - including knife, saw and scissors that could prove invaluable in the backcountry - and light weight, 6.9 oz. LED LENSER is donating 200 of their powerful H7 headlamps. The lamps have Advanced Focus System technology so an instructor can examine a map up-close with a mellow reading beam and then switch quickly and easily to a powerful long-distance spot for something further down the trail.

"We're excited to have Leatherman and LED LENSER support this annual NOLS event by donating such useful, practical gear," said Summit Coordinator, Lauren Crenshaw. "It is certainly an exciting gift to offer to folks that attend this year's Faculty Summit." This 3-day event focuses on professional development and brings together NOLS field and WMI instructors from all over the world."
