It has replaced an older headlamp. A better battery in this new H8R. The red and green filter lenses are a plus for night operations at night. So far so good. A very good headlight.

I originally purchased the H8R headlamp for myself. I was amazed when it was delivered so quickly! I absolutely love it. I create stained glass art and the headlamp has made a huge difference in my being able to see small pieces well. I have a friend who creates canes and walking sticks out of tree branches; he carves intricate designs on them. I bought the second H8R for a Christmas present for him, and he was so delighted with it, especially after he used it for the first time and realized that eye strain was a thing of the past. Thanks again for such a great product.

My original Google search was for a waterproof LED headlamp I could dive with for boat hull & under-structure maintenance. Ledlenser was a prominent search result & I bought w/o realizing the water resistance level of the product I'd chosen was far from waterproof. That being said, the H8R fulfills its design specification with an extremely high level of build quality. Operational duration far exceeds any LED lamp I've used previously. I'm still looking for a waterproof headlamp.
