★★★★★
5th one. Love them.
This is the only flashlight I use at work. Bought it for the new guy ... and now he's a convert. Best light I've used hands down.

★★★★★
Great for photography
I have been using this flashlight for more than six years and it still works like the first day, very practical because you have all four colors in the same flashlight without the need to exchange filters ...
Jose, verified buyer P6R Core QC
★★★★★
Great little light
It's really light and works quite well on a keychain, unlike other so-called keychain lights which she has tried and which were much heavier. Great styling, too. Now I need to get one for myself.
Charles B., verified buyer K4R
★★★★★
Powerful
This is an amazing item. I've had mine for a few years and I bought backup in case. Powerful and so great for dark night dog walks

The pioneers of everyday carry

In 2000 Ledlenser built the Photon Pump V8, an LED light small enough to live on a keyring. It sold in the millions and became one of the top selling LED flashlights in the world. Everyday carry has been the category we know best ever since, and every light on this page comes from that lineage.

1.K4R Keychain Light

Made for your keys
$19.95
Pick this if you want a light on you every day without thinking about it.

20 grams and 52 millimeters long, so it lives on a keyring and you stop noticing it is there. 120 lumens covers a keyhole, a dropped phone, the walk from the car, and the back of a cupboard.

It charges over USB-C from the same cable as your phone, so there is nothing extra to pack.

2.K6R Safety Keychain Light

Made for keys, more output
$29.95
Pick this if you want keyring size and enough output to light a whole room.

400 lumens out of something that weighs 32 grams, reaching 80 meters and holding it for 8 hours. It also carries a safety light, which is the reason for the name and the reason people keep one clipped to a bag.

66 millimeters long, so it still rides on a keyring without pulling at your pocket.

3.P4R Work Flashlight

Made for a shirt pocket
$49.99
Pick this if you work in a uniform or a shirt and want the light clipped where your hand already goes.

A pen light that runs 15 hours on a charge, which is the longest single stretch on this page. The beam is 4300 kelvin with a CRI of 80, so colors look like themselves. That matters when you are reading a label, matching a wire, or checking paintwork.

62 grams, 164 millimeters, clipped and out of the way.

4.P6R Core QC Flashlight

Made for distance and color
$89.95
Pick this if you are outdoors after dark and want to see a long way, or want a color beam.

335 meters of reach, the furthest on this page, and four colors in one head: cool white plus red, green and blue. Red keeps your night vision when you are reading a map or checking a camp. Green and blue are what people use for tracking and for spotting on water.

On the low setting it runs for 110 hours, so a week of short uses does not trouble it.

5.MT10 Flashlight

Made for most output
$99.95
Pick this if you want the most light on this page and still want it in a pocket.

1,000 lumens, which is more than eight times the K4R, out of a light that weighs 156 grams. The 3,200 mAh cell is the reason it can hold that: on the low setting it will run for 144 hours, so a week away from a charger is fine.

This is the one for camping, the truck and the tool bag rather than a keyring.

Runtime shown is at the brightest setting. Every light here runs far longer on a lower mode: the MT10 holds a low beam for 144 hours and the P6R Core QC for 110. Lumens is how much light comes out and reach is how far it carries, which is why the P6R Core QC reaches further than the MT10 on around a quarter of the output.

We know everyday carry

In 1993 a bank turned the Opolka twins down for a loan. They had no collateral, just a sketch book and the prototype of a flashlight the bank told them was unsellable. In 1994 they founded Ledlenser in a garage with 1,000 Deutschmarks, a toolbox and an old Atari computer.

In 2000 that idea became the Photon Pump V8, an energy efficient LED in a housing small enough to live on a keyring. It sold in the millions, and everyday carry has been the category we know best ever since.

Common questions

What is an EDC flashlight

Everyday carry. It means a light small enough that you have it on you as a matter of habit, rather than one you fetch once you already know you need it. In practice it clips to a pocket, rides on a keyring, or lives in a bag without you noticing the weight.

How many lumens do I need

For a keyhole or a walk to the car, 120 lumens is enough. For lighting a room or a yard, 400 or more. Above 1,000 you are buying the ability to light something a long way off, which matters outdoors and rarely matters indoors.

Which is the best compact EDC flashlight

It depends where it will live. On a keyring, the K4R at 20 grams or the K6R if you want 400 lumens on the same ring. In a shirt pocket, the P4R Work. In a bag, the P6R Core QC for reach or the MT10 for output. The list and the comparison table above are built to answer exactly this.

Are these rechargeable

Yes, all five. Most charge over USB-C from the same cable as your phone.

What is the difference between IP2X and IP54

IP2X covers protection against touch, not against water. IP54 is protected against dust and splashing water, which covers rain and normal outdoor use. The K4R and K6R keychain lights are IP2X. The P4R Work and P6R Core QC are IP54.

Do you make anything bigger than these

Yes. If everyday carry for you means the truck or a shift after dark rather than a pocket, the P7R runs 2,000 lumens to 320 meters with a cell you can replace yourself.
